In These Poppy Fields
In these poppy field I laid,
Until my skin and bones decayed,
I was once fighting in the great war,
I hadn't really fought before.
In these poppy fields I had a fear,
About my loved ones my eye shreds a tear,
I was always to tired to care,
Cross into the no mans land if you dare.
In these poppy fields time past,
Would I be able to go home at last,
In these poppy fields I thrived,
Yet in these poppy fields I died.
