P.S.H.C.E.E
P.S.H.E./Citizenship is taught throughout the school as a discrete lesson (Citizenship ideas also feature in all subjects and through assemblies).
There is opportunity to discuss and investigate a wide variety of issues often relating to safety, the community, health and safety, careers and topical issues.
The curriculum is broad and progresses through all three years. It
is flexible enough to allow reflection and debate on topical issues as
they arise.
Sex education and Relationships is part of this syllabus, being taught
in Year 6 and revisited in Year 8. The course is based on BBC Education
materials with additional worksheets and materials from other
sources. It covers areas such as decision-making, boy/girl
relationships, family life - dealing with change, self-image,
stereotyping, friendships, as well as basic sex education.
