Religious Education
RE is taught to all pupils for one lesson each week. The school follows the North Yorkshire county guidelines with reference to QCA units of work. By the end of Year 8, pupils will have studied Christianity in depth and looked at Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Sikhism in some detail. There is a good range of resources and excellent facilities with varied teaching methods being used.
During previous years, Y8 pupils were able to visit places
of worship.
The first was the Buddhist Temple at Ulverston where the pupils had a
guided tour and a short introduction to meditation.

The temple was impressive both outside and inside.
It was welcoming and attractive.
Later in the year we visited a synagogue in Leeds followed by an exhibition of Jewish life.
