Music

As mentioned already, music is highly valued in our school and children are encouraged to engage in extra-curricular instrumental or choral work. Pupils are encouraged to have peripatetic lessons in such instruments as: keyboards, violin, guitar - electric and acoustic, brass, woodwind, cello, drums and voice.

In school throughout the year there are various ensembles (orchestra, choir), musicals (Christmas performance) and competitions (house choir and pop idol). A high percentage of pupils take part. We try to have regular 'live' visitors in school such as those from Japan, Uganda and Peru as well as having access to various types of workshops such as drumming.

Singing is very popular and the choir and choral groups perform for the public at various events with the school orchestra and instrumental ensembles. The highlight of their year is the Christmas concert in which more than half the pupils in school are involved.
