Jogakuin, Hiroshima

Newspaper Project with Jogakuin, Hiroshima

05hiro01 Our school magazine IMS CloseUp , published once a term, has an international flavour in more ways than one. Because of the high level of international activity at the school, there are always articles about our work in this field.

05hiro02 We have also been working with friends at the Jogakuin School in Hiroshima, Japan. Each time we publish a magazine, a selection of our articles is sent to Japan and similarly, they send their articles to us. The partnership has its roots in the friendship of two members of staff - Kate Butcher from IMS and Hitoshi Mukai from Jogakuin who taught together at Gyosei International School, a school for Japanese students, some years ago. Both were involved in the production of their own school magazines and saw it as an opportunity to promote mutual understanding between their students. Many of the magazines are available for viewing on this site.
