December 2008 Newsletter

Dear Parents

Christmas is nearly upon us and our young people are fully engaged in various rehearsals as well as the usual enrichment activities.

Your child should bring home an end of term target sheet which can be found in his/her 'Planner'.  Please sign the sheet in recognition of having read and discussed the content with your child. Thank you.

May I thank you on behalf of everyone at Ingleton Middle School for your support this term and wish you a very happy festive season.

Yours sincerely
Mary V. Parker
Head Teacher

Concert at St Mary's Church
There will be two performances on Wednesday 17th December at 2p.m. and 7p.m. at St Mary's Church Ingleton.  There is no admission charge but there will be a plate for donations, which will be sent to a worthwhile charity.

Drama Club - 'Charles Dickens Presents'
At 7.30pm on the evening of Thursday 18th December.  The Drama Club will perform their latest play 'Charles Dickens Presents'.

At the end of the performance, which has a running time of approximately an hour, we shall be sampling a glass of sherry and a mince pie.  The sherry has already been purchased but not the mince pies.  If you can help us by donating half a dozen mince pies, we would be most grateful.  Please could you fill in the slip below and send the mince pies in during school hours on Thursday 18th December.  Thank you.

Raffle Tickets - Christmas Hampers
I would like to say a big thank you to all of you for selling the Raffle Tickets and providing items for the Christmas Hampers. The draw will take place on the 18th December at the Drama Production.  Winners will be notified and the Hampers will be distributed.

Stamps
You will already know that we collect used postage stamps.  The purpose is to pay for a guide dog for the blind.  With 25th December fast approaching, please could you save all the stamps from your Christmas mail and send them to school.  Thank you.

Christmas Cards
At the end of the festive period we would be grateful if you would save your Christmas Cards and hand them into Mrs Butcher. Thank you.

Variety Show - a date for your diary Friday 20th March, 2009
The PTFA is in the process of organising a 'Variety Show' as a fund raising activity.  The monies raised at such an event will be used in a variety of ways such as dance groups, artists, theatre companies and musicians.  We have a number of local adults and children performing dances, songs, sketches and musical items.  The venue has been booked, we shall need an audience.  Please make a note of the date in your diary and support us.  Further details will be provided nearer the date.

Accommodation Required
In the New Year we have a Swedish Visitor who will be in School from the beginning of January until the beginning of March and we are looking for a self-contained flat/accommodation for this lady.  If you feel you will be able to help us or have any suggestions I would be grateful if you would contact Mrs Butcher.
