Charity work at Ingleton Middle School

Derian House Children's Hospice.

We have recently sent £170 to this charity.
The money was from a non-uniform day and an enterprise by Yr 8 in Technology.
Pupils designed products and made cakes to sell.

We have received a letter of thanks from Derian. In the letter it also states:
'During the past five and a half years, Ingleton Middle School has contributed nearly £3000 for Derian House which is a wonderful achievement.'

Mr Ian Minto, fundraiser for Derian , is to visit school to thank pupils and talk about the ongoing work of the charity.

Ingleton Middle School supports at least three charities a year.

As well as that we like to help in 'emergency situations'. Over the past years we have given to these charities:

Each year we make sure that we support :

In the year 2004 / 2005 we have also sent money to Peru and the Tsunami victims - we had a 'Bring and Buy' and a disco. We had a 'Be as weird as you like day' for Comic relief.

In the summer term we will be raising money for an electricity generator for our link school in Uganda - all kinds of ideas for raising this money have been suggested by the School Council. Watch this space !
