Liaison

Due to the pupils at Ingleton Middle School spanning Key Stages 2 & 3 of the National Curriculum, we believe it is vital to be in constant communication with both the primaries in our locality and with Settle College. To this end, we liaise and work with teachers through National Curriculum subject areas to ensure continuity of good practice and the development of education and welfare for all our pupils. Visits by pupils across the phases take place as often as time permits through social events such as school plays and curriculum based events such as Science lectures and French afternoons.

Pupils in their final year at the primary schools are visited by our staff and the pupils spend four half days and a whole day at the Middle School prior to joining Y6.  There is also an opportunity for parents to see our facilities and talk to staff during a parents evening. Year 8 pupils visit Settle College during their last term with us and are also interviewed by senior College staff to ensure smooth transition. The College also organises an evening meeting for parents so that they may meet staff and find out more information.
